A must for ocean enthusiasts, these trips, from 1 7 days explore the incredible diversity of sea life along South Africas rich and legendary coastlines. In the Cape, we take in the Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town to explore the habitats, plants and animals that live at the southernmost tip of Africa. Scuba divers can swim freely alongside ragged tooth sharks, turtles and rays. A boat trip into False Bay affords a chance to see the Great White sharks in the rare act of breaching from the ocean as they hunt seals, while divers can experience these super predators up-close from a submerged cage. In springtime, we have the chance for close encounters with Southern Right Whales that come into our waters to mate & calve in spots such as Hermanus, and off the coastline of the Tsitsikamma National Park, we take in dolphins, whales and many other marine species. Further afield, off the east coast, we visit Rocktail Bay on the Maputaland coast where we learn about the Leatherback and Loggerhead Turtle Research Project. We dive and snorkel off this untouched coastline and relax in the glorious setting of a local coastal lodge. |
