PENINSULA ART EXPERIENCE - FULL DAY

Tour Code: FS01

The day starts with a visit to Imiso Ceramics at the Old Biscuit Mill. Run by four talented individuals, Imiso now exports their pieces to Europe and the USA. Afterwards, drive southwards down the Peninsula to Kalk Bay to browse some of the many art and antique shops and galleries in this picturesque area.

Continue along the False Bay coastline, stopping for a delicious lunch at the Cape Farmhouse restaurant, with its Africa-inspired menu.

After lunch, stroll down to Red Rock Tribal Art to meet Juliette & Steve de Combes who, for the last 15 years, have travelled through sub-equatorial Africa collecting and researching tribal artefacts, some of which are now displayed in private and public collections around the world.

Spend time with this fascinating couple in their store learning about their travels and artists they have met and continue to support - many of whom create prized contemporary art pieces using local and recycled materials.

Continue to the seaside village of Scarborough where we visit Steven & Juliette's home to see their private collection of art and to hear more about their lives in the South African art world.

On the way back to the city, stop off at Camps Bay to visit the private collection of Cape art dealer, Rose Korber who will introduce you to the work of some of South Africa's newest generation of internationally acclaimed contemporary artists.
